A wine of quiet ambition and real depth. Bright ruby in the glass, it opens with dark cherry, woodland berries and a whisper of violet and almond blossom, layered with moist earth and a fine mint lift. On the palate it is intense and tightly wound: pure dark fruit wrapped around a stony, iron-laced core, with grippy, layered tannins and a long, zesty finish that speaks of the limestone-rich soils between Panzano and Montefioralle.
This is 100% Sangiovese from a single micro-zone at 480–520 metres, naturally fermented and aged 30 months in large French and Slavonian oak casks, followed by 8 months in bottle. Only 2,600 bottles were produced.
For those who want a Chianti Classico of seriousness and rarity, this is one to secure before the rest of the world catches up.
