Grape: Nero d'Avola, with Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon
Winemaking: The wine rests on lees in stainless steel for about 5 months, then ages in French oak barrels (33% new, 33% second passage, 33% third passage) for 14 months, followed by a further 12 months in bottle before release.
Tasting notes: Ample, enveloping and complex. It releases scents of red fruit and wild berries, elegantly fused with tertiary notes of toasting, Cuban cigar, and vanilla pod, closing with balsamic hints and black pepper. Other descriptors include wild herbs, licorice, sweet tobacco, violets, blueberry jam, and exotic spices.
